Dougie

The love-struck I’m A Celebrity... champion said he’d be ‘mental not to marry’ the Essex artist as he introduced her to his jungle mates at the …Get Me Out of Here wrap party after Saturday’s win.

‘I’m going to get Christmas out of the way before I do anything,’ the Party Girl singer said on his plans to take the whirlwind romance to the next stage. ‘She’s such an awesome chick. I think I’d be mental not to marry her,’ he added, despite the romance only being a few weeks old.

The 24-year-old admitted he has ‘no timeline’ but revealed his lover was ‘very happy’ after she flew Down Under to pick up her smelly boyfriend.

‘She’s very happy now that we’re back together. That’s for sure.’

Whisked away on to the mayhem that follows conquering the jungle, Poynter said: ‘We had 15 minutes together and that’s it. I had a shower and she bought me some food; a calzone.’

Now the TV pin-up says it’s the turn of his bandmate Harry Judd to match him and go all the way on BBC’s Strictly Come Dancing.

Dougie says he’ll be bringing his good karma to the studio. ‘I’ll be there on Saturday. I’m going to take my jungle crown into the studio and say “The pressure is on, dude,”’ he said.

His other bandmate Danny Jones has also been held to account after baring all on Twitter.

‘Danny said that if I win, he’d Tweet a picture of himself naked – and he’s done it,’ said Dougie. ‘It’s up. He’s got a loo roll covering his genitals.’

Meanwhile, Frankie Sandford was shaking off seeing her ex-Dougie Poynter gush about his new girlfriend after his win.

The 22-year-old Up singer, dodged the red carpet as she arrived at the Capital FM Jingle Bell Ball to perform with The Saturdays.

She moved on to footballer Wayne Bridge after dumping Dougie last year.

Gary Speed's Death

Tributes continued to flood in this weekend to honour the life of Gary Speed as the nation struggles to come to terms with the Wales manager’s shock death.

Emotional scenes took place at the weekend as hundreds of thousands of people paid their last respects to the popular footballer at matches across the UK.

Speed – widely described as a legend of the game – was found dead at his home in Cheshire eight days ago. He was 42.

Widow Louise Speed and her two sons joined tens of thousands of fans to remember her late husband from the stands of Leeds United’s Elland Road stadium on Saturday afternoon.

Just before half-time, Mrs Speed came out of the ground with members of her family to inspect the mass of tributes, which have formed a shrine around the statue of Leeds legend Billy Bremner.

The 27,000-strong crowd were shown a montage of Speed’s finest moments for the club, for which he signed his first professional contract in 1988, on the big screen as Leeds midfield colleagues of the early 1990s – Gordon Strachan, Gary McAllister and David Batty – stood in the middle of the pitch.

As Leeds’ travelling fans had done at Nottingham Forest’s City Ground on Tuesday night, the home supporters began singing Speed’s name in the 11th minute of the match against Millwall, non-stop for 11 minutes.

Outside the ground, Stuart Wright, from Leeds, said: “It’s just so sad. Everyone wants to just be here and pay tribute to a true gentleman of the game.”

Meanwhile at St James’s Park, in Newcastle, there were both tears and rapturous applause in Speed’s memory before kick-off.

Newcastle United postponed part of their tribute after his widow said she wanted to come to the stadium to thank their fans for the support.

The club had intended to sing Welsh hymn Guide Me Thou, O Great Redeemer, also known as Bread of Heaven, to remember the former Newcastle midfielder.

Yesterday, at Everton’s Goodison Park, fans took part in a poignant minute’s applause before the club’s clash with Stoke City, and a Welsh flag flew above the ground at half-mast.

Former midfielder Speed played 65 times for the club he supported as a boy, and former teammates and close friends turned out in force to honour his memory. Speed's father, Roger, was comforted on the pitch ahead of the game.

Everton manager, David Moyes, said that Speed’s death had “rocked the soul of football”.

Wales winger Gareth Bale celebrated a goal for Tottenham Hotspur on Saturday by taking off his left boot, with ‘RIP Gary Speed’ stitched on it, and raising it in front of the Bolton fans – a team his fellow Welshman once played for.

Supporters have left scarves, football shirts and flowers across several football stadiums – including Leeds United’s Elland Road, Newcastle United’s St James’ Park and The Millennium Stadium and Cardiff City Stadium, where Wales play their home games.

The Football Association of Wales has also opened a book of condolences at its offices in Cardiff allowing fans to express their feelings about Speed’s sudden death.

Speed’s sister Lesley Haylock described her brother as an “inspiration”, while the family said they have been “overwhelmed” with messages of support and condolence.

Ms Haylock wrote on Twitter: “I have lost my brother, my friend, my inspiration.

“I hope you are at peace now Gary. I miss you so much.”

An inquest opened and adjourned in Warrington on Tuesday heard Speed was found hanged in the garage of his home by his wife just before 7am on Sunday, November 27.

Paulina Gretzky Twitter

The Great One’s daughter is back on Twitter after serving some time in the penalty box.

Paulina Gretzky, first-born child of Canadian hockey royalty in Wayne Gretzky and his wife Janet Jones, benched her Twitter account earlier this week in the wake of … shall we say? … rather racy photos that made the rounds of the social media world.

All this week, there appears to have occurred a tug of war--or perhaps merely a tug of love--between The Great One and his daughter, Paulina.

The tussle, which seems slightly more subtle than other confrontations in hockey, is over Paulina's Twitter feed.

The feed appears to have been shut down not once, but twice already this week, and reports suggest it's the feed's visual content, rather than Paulina's spelling, that's causing a little gloves-off friction.

Paulina Gretzky, it seems, would like to be a Great One, but she has yet to find the true niche of her greatness. So, as The Daily Beast catalogs it, she garlanded her tweets with pictures of herself that older people might call racy and younger people might call, well, awesome.

She’s only been benched a week for some rather racy social media photos, and now Paulina Gretzky has come back to Twitter.

"Hi everyone I'm back! But shh don't tell my dad," the soon-to-turn 23-year-old Gretzky tweeted Wednesday night, apparently not wanting to have her retired hockey superstar dad, the first “Great One” (Wayne Gretzky, natch), to find out.

That tweet was quickly removed, and now her previous tweet “before the storm” — “Taking a break from twitter for bit. Happy Holidays!!! xoxo” remains on top … with a more wholesome photo of her family as an avatar.

Earlier this week, the aspiring entertainer was at the centre of a social media firestorm for having posted numerous photos of herself and friends partying in nightclubs, tanning and striking suggestive poses.

Paulina is the first-born child of Canadian hockey royalty in Wayne Gretzky and his wife Janet Jones.

Just prior to suspending her Twitter account, she had piped up: "Having a nice sit down dinner with my dad about social media..haha #SIKEEE (sic)."

Paulina Gretzky first came to public attention at the 2003 Heritage Classic in Edmonton, an outdoors NHL game between the host Edmonton Oilers and the Montreal Canadiens, when she sang I Will Remember You.

Her song Collecting Dust is on the soundtrack to the MTV show Laguna Beach: The Real Orange County.

She has had bit acting roles in the 2009 remake of Fame as "Gorgeous Blonde Senior" and as the deputy in Guns, Girls and Gambling, starring Gary Oldman and Christian Slater.
